Broomstick Belle – Steam Train

Location: Belfast to Whitehead
Dates: Sunday 27th October
Cost per ticket: £15.00
Description: Enjoy a trip on a restored steam train from Belfast, along the shores of Belfast Lough to Whitehead Railway Museum and back. Spellbound Festival, Castle Espie

Location: Castle Espie Wetlands Centre, near Comber
Dates: Tuesday 29th October – Thursday 31st October

Description:  Head down to Castle Espie for all of the usual fun at this superb wetlands centre but with added spooky fun this half term. Learn how to fly a broomstick, make potions in the woodlands, and enjoy storytelling, face painting and crafts. Mountpanther Farm Park Halloween Extravaganza

Location: Mountpanther Farm Park, Clough, Downpatrick
Dates: Sat 26th, Sun 27th, Tue 29th, Wed 30th & Thur 31st October

Description: You’ll find loads of festive and spooky activities this half term at Mountpanther Farm Park, including pumpkin carving from their pumpkin patch, a ghost train, fancy dress competition and loads of animals to feed and cuddle.

Galgorm Castle Spooky Hallow Trail

Location: Galgorm Castle, Galgorm, Ballymena
Dates: Wednesday 30th October – Friday 1st November

Description: This spooky trail will enchant both young and older visitors to Galgorm Castle. Enjoy a character-filled trail, spooky storytelling, and a disco for the kids with best-dressed prizes too. Tickets include hot food and a drink.

Pumpkinfest, Seacoast Garden Centre

Location: Seacoast Garden Centre, Limavady
Dates: Saturday 26th October and Monday 28th October
Cost per ticket: £10 per child, £2.50 per adult
Description: Welcome to the first pumpkin patch at Seacoast Garden Centre. Kids can grab a mini wheelbarrow and search the pumpkin patch for their perfect pumpkin. Staff will be on hand to help them carve it! Kids can also enjoy making slime and the family can enjoy festive Halloween foods, including toasting marshmallows and making s’mores over an open fire.

Location: Rosepark Farm, Ballymoney
Dates: Friday 25th October – 4-8pm, Saturday 26th – 3-7pm, Sunday 27th – 3-7pm, Monday 28th – closed, Tuesday 29th – 3-7pm, Wednesday 30th – 3-7pm, Thursday 31st – 3-7pm.

Spooky A-scare-ium at Exploris Aquarium

Location: Exploris Aquarium, Portaferry

Description:  Happy Halloween! Follow the trick and treat trail but watch out for those pesky pirates who have captured all the treasure. Prizes are up for grabs for best dressed boys or girls. This is a great Halloween activity for kids in Northern Ireland this year!

Creatures of the Night – W5

Location: W5, SSE Belfast
Dates: Weekends from 28 September and daily from 28 October – Sunday 3 November.

Description: As well as being able to enjoy all the usual fun and activities at W5, this Halloween you can also enjoy their Creatures of the Night experience.  Prepare for a bone-chilling encounter with some of the weird and wonderful ghouls, ghosts and monsters that stalk the shadowy corners of our land after dark. For centuries storytellers have frightened listeners with tales of ghostly, thundering horsemen, howling werewolves and screaming banshees. W5 warn that although this is a family activity, it may be frightening for small children or those of nervous disposition and that strobe lighting is used.

Pumpkinfest, Castle Ward

Location: Castle Ward, Strangford, Downpatrick

Description: National Trust property, Castle Ward is always a lovely autumn day out, but you can also enjoy the annual pumpkinfest again this year. Pick your pumpkin and carve a spooky face or an artistic creation, and also enjoy the scarecrow festival too! After your Halloween activities, you can enjoy an autumnal walk around Castle Ward and the adventure and woodland play areas.
